Sunday Worship
Our worship is centred on the Holy Communion, or Eucharist.
This is the pattern of our Sunday services:
8.00 am
9.00 am
10.30 am
at Christ Church:
at West End:
at Christ Church:
Holy Communion (said) from the Book of Common Prayer
Sung Communion with sermon (Common Worship)
Parish Eucharist, with sermon and choir (Common Worship):
Noah's Ark (groups for the children) and a Crèche are provided
On the first Sunday the 10.30 service is designed for 'All-Age worship', and the children stay for the whole service (there is no
Noah’s Ark or crèche);
on the third Sunday of the month our Parish Eucharist has a more reflective style.
Where there is a fifth Sunday in the month, we have a Sung Eucharist at 9.30 using the traditional language of the
Book of Common Prayer.
Other services
Weddings and Baptisms are arranged as required - please contact the clergy
We say Morning Prayer daily in Christ Church at 10 am Monday to Saturday, and
there is a weekly service of Holy Communion (said, from the Book of Common Prayer)
every Wednesday at 7.30 am in Christ Church.
Children
Children are actively welcomed in our churches, and Christ Church has well designed rooms for the
Noah's Ark groups, added in 1997. On the first and third Thursday each month at 10.00 am we
have a very lively Toddlers' Praise service, lasting about 20 minutes and followed by juice
and biscuits.

Our churches (for a fuller description, see Churches)
Christ Church is a large, Victorian Gothic church, with a fine organ and choir.
It has full disabled facilities, and a hearing induction loop.
St George's, West End is a little 'mission church', built as a temporary building
in 1879 on land given by Queen Victoria but still in good order! It is the village church for West End,
and we are happy to arrange baptisms and weddings for residents.
The old St George's church, behind
The Bear in Esher High Street, was replaced as the parish church by
Christ Church in 1854. |
We hold occasional services there: a Candlemas evening service, an 8am Holy Communion on the Sunday nearest to
St George's Day, and occasional Choral Evensongs during the summer months - details from the
Parish Office.
